Case Study: Wesley Hill Recreation Reserve

In 2017 Avard Civil was awarded the contract to construct a new recreation facility on a partial Greenfield site.




The project involved:

  • Site strip (23,000 m2)

  • Removal of the existing courts and fencing

  • 6 metre site cut into rock (2,600 m3)

  • 271 metres of 225mm drainage

  • 14 pits

  • Construction of a 100 lineal metre RECO modular and strap retaining wall

  • 2,700 m2 concrete slab

  • Plexipave finish for three new show courts

  • Architectural curved bleachers and timber seating

  • 148 metres poured insitu 450mm high concrete seating

  • 532 m2 asphalt pathway with concrete edging

  • Rain garden / biorentention

  • New twin lane cricket net facility

  • External exposed aggregate paving

  • 95 metes of new black chainmesh fencing

  • Upgrades to existing asphalt netball courts

  • Construction of a 32 tread concrete stairway

  • Installation of 7,800 plants

  • Lighting towers

  • Coach boxes

  • Accessible ramp and handrail

  • Bike rails

  • Drinking fountains

  • TGSI’s
