Avard Civil were awarded the civil earthworks contract for the Bendigo Law Courts in 2022.
Working with Kane Constructions on the $152 million landmark civic building, we helped transform the once Bendigo TAFE site to a state-of-the-art hub, servicing the Bendigo and Loddon Mallee area.
With the help of Premier Daniel Andrews, Deputy Premier Jacinta Allan and CSV CEO Louise Anderson, the doors were officially opened on February 24th 2023. This large-scale build provides for the Magistrates', Children's, Victorian, Administrative, County, Supreme and it's very own Koori Court.
Not only is the impressive modern technology and infrastructure of this build eye-opening, the 15 meter wide artwork of the wedge-tailed eagle, Banjil, is a gorgeous centerpiece soaring above on the cooper facade. Working closely with the local Dja Dja Wurrung community, this is a culturally sensitive and inclusive court, which features a courtyard that symbolises a smoking ceremony, filled with native flora and fauna of the Dja Dja Wurrung country.
