Safety Site Supervisor
Avard Civil is an agile & dynamic civil construction company delivering a variety of civil and mining projects from major bulk earthworks to detailed construction and engineering projects throughout Central Victoria.

We are seeking a Safety Site Supervisor to work on a variety of Mining & Civil Infrastructure projects in Central Victoria.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Compliance
Monitor and enforce compliance with safety procedures, site rules, and legislation.
Ensure adherence to OHS laws, regulations, and corporate HSE frameworks.
Plan and manage internal and external audits to confirm compliance.
Risk Management
Conduct risk assessments and implement hazard controls for high-risk activities.
Conduct safety inspections to identify potential hazards.

Incident Management
Lead and support incident investigations, ensuring alignment with root cause analysis processes.
Conduct incident investigations to improve safety outcomes.
​
Training & Communication
Develop and deliver H&S training programs for site teams and contractors.
Facilitate safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
​
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain and audit safety documentation, including SWMS, JHAs, and safety data systems.
Track and report safety performance data, preparing internal and external reports.
Develop and review H&S procedures and plans.
​
Leadership & Engagement
Provide expert advice and guidance on HSE matters across all levels of the organisation.
Work closely with supervisors and site teams to promote proactive safety practices.
Lead and promote safety initiatives, integrating HSE policies into daily operations.
General
General duties associated with Project Operations.

Requirements

Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent).

Cert IV Training and Assessment
-
Demonstrated experience in a mining, civil construction, or heavy industry environment.

Strong knowledge of safety regulations and emergency response procedures.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Team orientated and Client focussed
-
Full Motor Vehicle Licence
Preferred

HR /MC truck Licence
