Avard Civil is a dynamic civil construction company who perform a large range of civil and structural projects, ranging from bulk earthworks, road construction, recreation facilities, bridge construction and commercial building projects.

We are seeking a professional Estimator to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will cover all aspects of our estimating department, with a key focus on client liaison.

 

Requirements of the role

We require the services of an experienced civil estimator to assist the growth of the company in securing future contracts.

Your role will entail:

• Coordinate civil, structural, concrete, landscaping estimates and tenders.

• Seek and source tender opportunities via open market or your network of contacts.

• Reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications.

• Perform site visits and attend site briefings to obtain relevant information.

• Performing take offs utilising Mudshark, 3D Civil and Cubit software programs.

• Source pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Prepare tender submissions, utilising our Expert tender program

• Methodology and schedules/construction timelines using Microsoft Projects.

• Ability to compile letters of offer quotations.

• Reviewing contracts and scope of work documents.

• Follow up previously submitted tenders and quotations.

• Preparations of budgets and handover documentation to the Project team upon award of projects.

• Assist Project team with variation costings.

 

Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years estimating experience in civil and structural projects with a proven track record of delivering successful, competitive and profitable tenders.

• The ability to create schedules, complete take offs and prepare cost budgets in a variety of formats is essential.

• Ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative team environment.

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

• High level of negotiation and analytical skills.

• Sound working knowledge of Project Management principles.

• An eye for detail and accuracy with numbers. 

• Proven ability to work under pressure and effective time management to meet tender deadlines.
